Keto Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry

We just tried this amazing recipe by Lisa J. Brown, and my-oh-my, it was mouth watering! You can find this recipe on page 60 of the Simply Tasty Ketogenic Cookbook. I love this cookbook because the recipes are delicious and easy to follow.


Bill and I love beef, and we love broccoli. We decided to try this recipe for a twist on grilled steak. We found some beautiful cuts of Top Sirloin from our local grocery store at a bargain price. It's amazing how our grocery stores in the midwest have such amazing cuts of beef.

We normally use frozen broccoli, but today we had a beautiful bunch of fresh broccoli on hand. I was feeling healthy and enthused about our plan for a Keto dinner!


We didn't have a wok for stir frying, and so we used a large skillet instead. It worked a charm! We truly loved this dinner and marked it up as one that we'll repeat.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb. cubed beef (sirloin is awesome, tenderloin is great!)

  • 1 green onion, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspooon onion salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 broccoli head, the florets

  • 1/4 cup of butter, cubed

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a skillet, add oil then fry the onion and beef. Season with pepper and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.

  2. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Place in a bowl and keep warm.

  3. Add butter and broccoli to the same skillet that the onion and beef were cooked in. Cook until tender, about 5 to 8 minutes.

  4. Return the meat to the pan, and stir.

  5. Stir in the lemon juice and the soy sauce and heat through.
